A Guide to Disclosure of Beneficial Ownership in Tanzania
The Government Notice No. 391 published on 14th May 2021, introduced new regulations under the Companies Act, Cap 212 that regulated the enforcements and existence of ‘Beneficial Owners’ in registered companies in Tanzania.
These regulations included among other things, the definition of who falls under the umbrella of a ‘beneficial owner’, the particulars of beneficial owners that must be disclosed, as well as the timeframe allocated to disclosed this information.
